Integrated inkjet solutions for reliable variable data printing

DJM develops integrated inkjet solutions that combine industrial printing technologies, intelligent software, and production equipment into one reliable workflow.

By integrating inkjet printing into existing presses, finishing lines, and other production environments, companies can add high-quality variable data printing without replacing their complete production infrastructure. This helps reduce process steps, shorten lead times, and create more flexible production lines.

At the center of the solution is the OctiPus Software Controller, DJM’s modular industrial inkjet controller. OctiPus functions as a high-performance variable data printing controller and can control DJM print modules, Fujifilm Samba, HP, Kodak, and other print technologies within a single production environment.

The software processes print data in real time, synchronizes variable content with the production line, and helps ensure that every item is printed accurately. Its modular architecture makes the system suitable for both individual print modules and more complex integrated inkjet solutions.

Built for demanding industrial print environments

  • Real-time RIP processing Print data is processed on the fly for efficient production without unnecessary pre-processing steps.
  • Data integrity Variable data is synchronized with the production process to help ensure accurate and complete output.
  • Scalable performance The modular platform can be expanded and configured to match changing production requirements.

From print module to complete production solution

How integrated inkjet works

DJM integrates industrial inkjet technology into both existing and new high-speed web-fed and sheet-fed production lines. Each solution combines proven print technology, intelligent software, and custom mechanical engineering to create one reliable production system.

Production line assessment

DJM evaluates the available space, line speed, substrate, application, workflow, and production requirements. This creates the technical foundation for an inkjet integration that fits the existing production environment.

Technology and software configuration

The appropriate print modules, ink delivery system, drying technology, and OctiPus Software Controller configuration are selected for the application. OctiPus can also be connected to existing ERP, database, and workflow systems.

Custom mechanical integration

DJM designs and builds the required mounting systems, transport components, mechanical frames, and IR or UV drying solutions. The print modules are positioned accurately and securely to support stable printing at production speed.

Installation and commissioning

DJM engineers install and commission the complete system on-site. The production line is tested and optimized until it meets the agreed print quality, speed, synchronization, and data integrity requirements.

Operator and technical training

Operators and technical personnel receive practical training in the OctiPus platform, daily operation, job setup, printhead cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance.

Service and long-term support

After commissioning, DJM supports the installation through remote assistance, technical service, and optional maintenance agreements for periodic inspection and preventive maintenance.

Integration across a wide range of production equipment

  • Offset, flexographic, and rotary printing presses
  • Finishing and converting equipment
  • Folder-gluers and carton production lines
  • Corrugated and flexible packaging lines
  • Mailing and envelope inserting systems
  • Card and ticket production lines
  • Scratch card and security printing systems
  • Custom web-fed and sheet-fed transport systems

Flexible software control

One controller, multiple print technologies

The OctiPus Software Controller brings print data, production control, and industrial inkjet technology together within one modular platform. It processes variable print data in real time and synchronizes each printed item with the production line.

OctiPus can control multiple print technologies within one production line. This gives manufacturers the flexibility to combine different printing systems and select the most suitable technology for each application without being restricted to a single printhead platform.

Compatible technologies include: DJM print modules, Fujifilm Samba, HP, Kodak, and other compatible technologies.
