Scalable software-based RIP engine
OctiPus features a fully software-based RIP engine that processes print data on-the-fly, enabling immediate production without pre-processing. This reduces preparation time and cost, while performance can be easily scaled by adding additional hardware.
For static data, OctiPus supports RIP-once-and-print-multiple-times functionality, allowing print data to be reprinted without reprocessing.

Color Management Add-on
The Color Management Add-on supports high-quality full-color printing with precise and consistent results.
Through printer and ink linearization, each ink channel is calibrated for predictable output, creating a stable basis for accurate color reproduction. OctiPus supports industry‑standard ICC profiles and different rendering intents to match specific application needs. A built‑in color estimation tool, based on Delta E calculations, provides insight into color accuracy and helps ensure reliable, consistent results across every print job.

Color Management Add-on

Task Queue Add-on
The Task Queue Add-on enables efficient print job management for streamlined production. It allows operators to manage and monitor multiple jobs, process batches, and control the queue by pausing, resuming, cancelling or reprioritizing print jobs.
With flexible file handling, OctiPus supports variable page and file dimensions, making it suitable for documents with different lengths. For optimal performance, the Task Queue Add-on is best used in combination with DJM hardware.
Printer Grouping Add-on
With the Printer Grouping Add-on, OctiPus can control multiple print technologies simultaneously at a single print position. The PDF data file is automatically split according to the defined settings and sent to the correct print module, enabling mixed‑technology configurations.
Settings such as resolution and printer type can be configured for maximum flexibility in complex production environments. OctiPus can also integrate with printers from other manufacturers, making it a versatile solution for advanced production lines.
Hardware Control Add-on
The Hardware Control Add-on enables precise management of printhead and ink system parameters. All system settings are monitored in real time, allowing irregularities to be detected and addressed immediately. This helps minimize downtime while ensuring stable, consistent and reliable production performance.
Read & Print Add-on
The Read & Print Add-on enables OctiPus to receive print instructions directly from external systems. This removes the need for operators to manually prepare and start each job through the user interface. It makes OctiPus ideal for production environments where each product, sheet, label or individual item requires unique print data.
Integration with third parties Add-on
OctiPus connects printing with third-party systems and line-level hardware, turning the printer into part of a fully coordinated production line. This results in fewer manual interventions, reduced risk of errors, improved line visibility, and smoother interaction between printing, inspection and machine control.
