A sustainable approach

Last week, Xander Lammerts van Bueren successfully completed his internship assignment, and with it his study business administration.

In February, Xander started his internship assignment within DJM, formulated as follows: What is sustainability and how can it be implemented within DJM?

Dick welcomes Xander, fully "charged" for his new job.

The primary goal was to explore what sustainability means, what DJM can focus on and how its progress can be measured. With this research, DJM wanted to lay the foundation for shaping a future-oriented sustainability policy.

Xander's research has led to the advice to design a policy with goals and benchmarks related to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. This allows DJM to help improve the future.

As of this week, Xander can also apply his research from his new position as policy officer at DJM. Together with his colleagues, he will work on creating a forward-looking sustainability policy that helps DJM to improve structurally in relation to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All these measures are aimed at reducing our own impact, as well as the impact of our solutions as customers use them on a daily basis.

We would like to thank Xander for his research and welcome him to the team as a policy officer.
